Save Helme Chase Maternity Unit

Morecambe Bay NHS Trust have announced that birthing services at Helme Chase Maternity Unit at Westmorland General Hospital will be suspended for the next six months due to staffing shortages.

Helme Chase Maternity Unit has been underfunded for years now by the Trust due to Conservative Government cuts to rural health services.

The Conservative Government must give the Trust the money and resources to properly staff Helme Chase so we can save our local maternity ward from permanent closure and give the unit a new lease of life after years of underinvestment.
