Over the last few months Cumbria's MPs have been working together to organise 'Cumbria Day', which will be celebrated in parliament today (Tuesday 6th December). The event will include businesses coming down from across the county to showcase the very best of what Cumbria has to offer.

Tim Farron MP has invited Bowness Bay Brewery, Grasmere Gingerbread and W.McClures Wholesale Food to the event to represent Westmorland and Lonsdale. The five other Cumbrian MPs have also each invited businesses from their constituencies.

The event is being run in collaboration with the Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership, as well as Britain's Energy Coast who have sponsored the event.

Tim said: "This event today will be a fantastic way to showcase what Cumbria has to offer and to help gain publicity for our area. From Grasmere Gingerbread through to locally produced beers and everything in between, we have a fantastic array of local businesses and produce that are a key part of the unique tourist offer in our area, and this is a chance to promote them. I am delighted to have been able to help organise this event alongside my fellow Cumbrian MPs, and look forward to the event later today."
