Farron comments on the recent atrocities in Nigeria

Liberal Democrat Foreign and Commonwealth Spokesperson Tim Farron MP has today commented on the recent atrocities in Nigeria.
Tim said: "Last week the world was left aghast by the awful scenes in Paris. That same week Amnesty International reported the town of Baga, Nigeria was razed and as many as 2,000 people killed by the terror group Boko Harem. Thousands of innocent people have been massacred, the majority children, women and elderly people.
"Just like the attackers in Paris, Boko Haram are warping Islam to fit their own twisted ends. The British government and the wider international community must offer whatever help and support the Nigerian authorities require in their fight against Boko Haram."
