Farron - Further funding won for improving local schools!

Tim Farron has welcomed the news that several local schools will receive funding to improve their school buildings. Six Voluntary Aided schools in South Lakeland will benefit from £393,914 awarded to the Diocese of Carlisle from the Education Funding Agency (EFA).

Tim said: "Families in South Lakeland deserve local schools with facilities that provide the best learning environment for young people. This funding will help our brilliant local schools be even better.

"Over the last ten years we have been able to secure millions to renovate and improve the facilities and fabric of local schools, this funding is the latest tranche of this successful long-running campaign."

The following Church of England schools will benefit from the Education Funding Agency investment:

  • Ambleside - Renewal of windows, infant classrooms (£44,069)
  • Crosscrake - Renewal of slate roof (£50,000)
  • Dent - Electrical and lighting health and safety work (£60,009)
  • Langdale - Additional space to provide dining/classroom and remodel (£114,739)
  • St. Martin & St. Mary, Windermere - Replacement windows - Junior School (£30,000)
  • St. Thomas's, Kendal - Disabled toilet refurbishment and replacement hall windows & doors (£55,097)
