Farron supports Sedbergh crossing campaign

13 Sep 2010

Local MP Tim Farron has contacted Cumbria County Council to raise the concerns of residents in Sedbergh about the pedestrian crossing near the town's police station.

Worried residents are campaigning for the zebra crossing at the police station to be moved to allow pedestrians to cross safely at this point. Currently pedestrians have to contend with vehicles speeding or failing to stop as they try to cross the road. Local residents are hoping that by collating data on the speed and flow of traffic down the road they may be able to persuade the council to act.

Tim commented, "It is important that the council listens to the concerns of the residents of Sedbergh and takes action to protect pedestrians from vehicles being driven irresponsibly through their town."
