‘Iconic as the Lakes themselves’ - MP celebrates 200 years of the Westmorland Gazette

South Lakes MP Tim Farron has paid tribute to local newspaper The Westmorland Gazette as it celebrates its 200^th year.

To mark 200 years of the paper, its history is now the subject of an exhibition - "From Wordsworth to the Web" - at the Museum of Lakeland Life and Industry in Kendal.

Tim said: "The Gazette is integral to our community. It is a quality newspaper and at the same time it is warm and human.

"The Westmorland Gazette is as iconic as the Lakes themselves - here's to the next 200 years…"
