MP calls for the immediate virtual recall of Parliament

Local MP Tim Farron is calling for Parliament to be virtually recalled today following the news of the rapid spread of the new strain of coronavirus and countries across Europe closing their borders to the UK.
Tim said: "The events over the weekend constitute a national crisis.
"The Government's response to them will have profound impacts on lives and livelihoods so it's crucial that their decisions are scrutinised by Parliament.
"With London now in lockdown, it would be very wrong for MPs to travel to Westminster - that's why provisions must be put in place for Parliament to proceed virtually at once."
