MP celebrates £13m investment in Kendal town centre

Cumbrian MP Tim Farron has warmly welcomed the news that Westmorland and Furness Council have secured over £13m of Levelling Up Funding to improve Kendal town centre.

This money will go towards:

- creating a new campus for Kendal College at Westmorland Shopping Centre

- revamping the market place, the market hall, and Kent Street

- improving the path between Lowther Street and Abbott Hall for walking and cycling

Commenting on the news, Tim said: “It’s absolutely fantastic news that we've secured over £13m to improve Kendal town centre.

“We are all very proud of our town and these improvements will help to make it an even better place to live, work and visit.

“I want to put on record my thanks to everyone at Westmorland and Furness Council who have worked so hard to win this funding.”
