MP congratulates Grasmere Primary School as it gains national recognition

South Lakes MP Tim Farron has paid tribute to the 'outstanding' work of staff, pupils and parents at Grasmere Primary School after news was announced that the school has been given National Leader of Education status.
The head teacher and staff at Grasmere Primary School have been selected for a top role supporting schools in challenging circumstances. Johanna Goode is one of only 95 head teachers to be appointed to the role of National Leader of Education (NLE) in the latest recruitment round.
The School is in the top six per cent of primaries in the country after being graded outstanding by Ofsted last year. The education watchdog applauded the 68 pupil primary in the heart of the Lake Districtfor being 'an exciting place to learn'.
Tim said: "In South Lakeland we are lucky to have so many good schools but Grasmere School really have gone above and beyond. I want to pay tribute to Johanna Goode, her staff, the pupils and their parents for the lovely family atmosphere of the school whenever I visit the school I am always impressed by the warmth of the school."
