MP ENCOURAGES LOCAL STUDENTS TO ACCESS NEW TRANSPORT BURSARY SCHEME

Cumbrian MP Tim Farron is “delighted” at the news that Westmorland and Furness Council will help students struggling with the cost of getting to college or sixth form.
The Education Travel Bursary Scheme has £500,000 earmarked for 16 to 19 year olds.
Tim said: “It is so important that young people are able to access education and training, no matter where they live.
“No one should be deprived of learning because of their geography or their finances – this grant will go a long way to helping students achieve their potential.
“I strongly encourage any young people who think they may qualify to apply.”
