MP uses National Carers Week to call for 24/7 mental health support for all carers

On National Carers Week, local MP Tim Farron is calling for all carers to be given access to 24/7 mental health support.

Tim said: "Our carers, whether it's people working in care homes or homecare, or unpaid carers looking after loved ones, are heroes. Not just for the amazing work they are doing during this crisis but for the care and devotion they show every single day.

"Being a full-time carer is tough, so we need to make sure that we care for our carers

"That's why we are calling for 24/7 mental health and wellbeing support to be available for all carers.

"On National Carers Week, I want to say to carers here in the South Lakes and across the country we thank you and we stand with you."
