MP visits Kendal-based hydropower company Gilkes

South Lakeland MP Tim Farron last week visited key local employer Gilkes. Tim met members of the team and was shown around the factory.

Tim said: "It was fascinating to visit Gilkes again, and get an update about the company and the Head Office here in Kendal. Gilkes is world-leading in the hydropower sector, promoting renewable energy production through projects across the globe. Gilkes also provides a huge number of jobs to the local economy, from apprenticeships for young people through to highly-skilled engineering jobs."
