MP welcomes Grange surgery announcement

South Lakes MP Tim Farron has welcomed news that NHS bosses have agreed to build a £3.5 million health centre in Grange-over-Sands.

Construction work on the new Health Centre at Berners Close is due to start later this year with an estimated completion time of summer 2013.

Speaking following the announcement, Tim said: "This is fantastic news - I want to pay tribute to Hugh Reeve and all the team involved. In the last few years we have seen more and more new healthcare services arrive to the South Lakes, especially at Westmorland General Hospital. This surgery is another positive step in improving health services in the South Lakes and I look forward to seeing the project move forward. It is a testament to the practices involved and the doctors, nurses and staff for their vision and hard work."
