Commenting on the breaking news that the UK's medicines regulators have approved the Moderna vaccine, local MP Tim Farron said: "This is absolutely fantastic and heart-warming news.
"I want to say a big thank you to everyone involved and to those on the front-line in our NHS who are working so hard to roll out the vaccines to protect the lives of our loved ones.
"The light at the end of the tunnel just got that little bit brighter."
