Tim Farron slams decision on WASPI compensation

Responding to the Government announcing that there will be no compensation for WASPI women, Westmorland and Lonsdale MP Tim Farron said:

“The Government have betrayed millions of pension-aged women, including many here in Cumbria, who were wronged through no fault of their own.

“Ministers have completely ignored the recommendation from the independent ombudsman to offer compensation.

“Today’s heartless decision cannot be allowed to stand and I will be pressing the Government to give those affected the fair compensation they so badly deserve.”
