Local MP Tim Farron visited Heron Hill Primary School today to celebrate the Big Pedal 2017. To mark the end of the 2017 'Big Pedal' competition, the pupils came dressed as superheroes to raise money for environmental charities.

Cross-a-Moor junction set for go-ahead following long campaign by Lib Dem councillor
Low Furness councillor Janet Willis' long-running campaign for a new junction at Cross-a-Moor has taken a step closer to becoming reality. The Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership agreed today to underwrite £1.7million of funding for the project, which Janet says will make the A590 at Cross-a-Moor much safer for local people.

Community tapestry to record Kendal floods
Local residents are invited to take part in an exciting project to record the events of last winter's floods in a tapestry. Local MP Tim Farron has praised the project and encouraged local residents to get involved at two upcoming workshops on the 1st and 19th April.

MP fights for police widows' pension rights
South Cumbrian MP Tim Farron has put forward a motion in parliament to fight for the pension rights of police widows and widowers, saying that out-of-date rules should not bar them from remarrying. The motion has already attracted cross-party support from almost 30 MPs.
