MP calls on banks to heed Cable's call and not be last bank to leave Sedbergh
Business Secretary Vince Cable has written to the big banks urging them to keep branches open in towns where there are no other banks left. Tim has echoed this call and urged Barclays and NatWest to honour this pledge for residents and the community in Sedbergh.

2,000 businesses in Westmorland have reduced tax bills - Farron
South Lakes MP Tim Farron has welcomed figures released this morning by HM Revenue & Customs which show that 2,000 businesses in Westmorland and Lonsdale have taken up the Employment Allowance tax cut.

Lakes MP named as MP of the year
Mr Speaker, Rt Hon John Bercow MP announced the Patchwork Foundation MPs of the Year 2014 at Speakers House on 5th November 2014, for those MPs who have represented and work well with underrepresented, deprived and minority communities across the country. South Lakes MP Tim Farron was named as Liberal Democrat MP for the year.

MP welcomes news that Mountain Goat take on Windermere TIC
Windermere's MP Tim Farron has welcomed the news that the town's tourist information centre (TIC) has been taken over by local business Mountain Goat Tours. Tim said this news was down to the 'fantastic work of Councillor Chris Hogg and South Lakeland District Council.
