South Lakes MP Tim Farron hailed the figures released by the Office of National Statistics (ONS) that showed that South Lakeland and Eden have the lowest unemployment rates in Great Britain. Tim paid tribute to local businesses for 'backing their staff and their community over the last few years'.
Tim met with George Eustice MP, the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Farming, Food and Marine Environment yesterday to press for a urgent re-think on the six day rule. Tim was told that the Government plans to phase out the rule by 2017.
