Farron: 'ONS figures show that South Lakeland has lowest unemployment in Britain'
South Lakes MP Tim Farron hailed the figures released by the Office of National Statistics (ONS) that showed that South Lakeland and Eden have the lowest unemployment rates in Great Britain. Tim paid tribute to local businesses for 'backing their staff and their community over the last few years'.

Farron secures promise to change the six day movement rule
Tim met with George Eustice MP, the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Farming, Food and Marine Environment yesterday to press for a urgent re-think on the six day rule. Tim was told that the Government plans to phase out the rule by 2017.

Childcare announcement will help thousands of local families
Working families could be paid up to £2,000 per child under a new Government childcare support scheme. The scheme has been championed by South Lakes MP Tim Farron. It is estimated that over 13,000 families in Cumbria will benefit from this policy.

Tim presses NHS England for action to deal with rural GP funding

Tim meets 11 year old Ellis in Parliament to talk about Type 1 diabetes
Ellis, from Arnside, was chosen to attend Parliament by diabetes charity JDRF. He was one of sixty adults and children selected from across the country to represent their fellow diabetes patients from across the UK.
