Local MP Tim Farron has said he is 'delighted' by new figures released by the Office of National Statistics which show that his campaign to boost apprenticeships in the South Lakes has paid off. Figures show that placements have more than doubled in our area.

MP calls on govt to help cut the cost of bus travel for students
South Lakes MP Tim Farron has asked Transport Ministers to put pressure on bus operators to raise the upper age limit on children's fares from 16 to 18. Tim believes it would make a big difference to the cost of travel for 6th form and college students.
