South Lakes MP Tim Farron has thanked campaigners and AgeUK for working together to stop Cumbria County Council hiking meals on wheels charges by 46%. But Tim has criticised the County Council for insisting that they will still increase meal prices, albeit by a smaller amount, to £3.60.

MP welcomes 'much needed' hospice funding
South Lakes MP Tim Farron has welcomed nearly £500,000 for St Mary's Hospice in Ulverston which is used by many residents in South Lakeland. Tim has said the money is much needed but has called on local residents to continue to support the much loved service.

Farron welcomes funding for A590 road improvements
Cumbrian MP Tim Farron has hailed the announcement of a Government project worth £790,000 to tackle delays on the A590 between M6 junction 36 and the outskirts of Barrow. Tim has thanked councillors Rod Wilson and Janet Willis for their campaigning to make the road safer.
