Farron welcomes £26 million extra for NHS in Cumbria

South Lakes MP, Tim Farron, has welcomed an additional £26 million for the NHS in Cumbria - which will help improve the likelihood of radiotherapy treatment coming to Kendal. The money will also support key Government priorities such as support for carers' breaks, the Cancer Drugs Fund, investment in talking therapies for those with mental health conditions, and 4,200 extra health visitors.

Farron wins meeting with Minister to discuss Teaching Assistants pay

Continuing in his campaign to prevent Cumbria's Teaching Assistants from receiving a 30% drop in pay at the hands of Cumbria County Council, Tim Farron MP has succeeded in getting local government minister Bob Neill MP, to agree to meet with himself, Cumbrian teaching assistants and the county council to help mediate and find a solution.

Farron offers to fix South Lakeland’s roads

Following the announcement of an additional £6.2million from the Government to fix the potholes in Cumbria's roads Liberal Democrat MP, Tim Farron, has pledged to get involved and physically help the highways authorities to make the repairs, but only if the Conservative Cumbria County Council ensure that the South Lakes gets its fair share of the investment.
