Local MP Tim Farron addressed 'Great North Meet' today, at the Newton Rigg College in Penrith. The conference is the gathering of the Royal Agricultural Society of England and focussed on some of the major issues in farming today including food miles, sourcing local produce and the rising cost of food.

Local MP Tim Farron has today expressed concern at the decision by the credit card operator Egg, who have cancelled the credit cards of some 160,000 customers, who were reportedly 'high risk' borrowers.
