New Liberal Democrat leader promotes

The new leader of the Liberal Democrats, Sir Menzies Campbell has today promoted local MP Tim Farron to become his first Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS). As Sir Menzies' PPS, Tim will be responsible for ensuring that Sir Menzies is kept well informed of backbench opinion and for advising him on current developments within the Parliamentary Party at Westminster.

MP vows to keep pressure on PM

Tim Farron has today vowed to keep up the pressure on the Prime Minister after the Prime Minister failed to answer the question Tim put to him during Prime Ministers Questions. Tim asked the Prime Minister to act urgently to stop shared ownership properties from being entirely bought out, a process which is eroding the stock of affordable houses in the South Lakes.

Farron trains hard for charity triathlon

Local MP Tim Farron is in the midst of a tough training regime to make sure he is in good condition for his charity triathlon a week next Saturday. Tim has organised this triathlon in aid of the North West Cancer Research Fund and New Holehird and is looking for sponsors. Tim's triathlon will see him travel approximately 30 miles down his constituency by foot, boat and bike.
