Government money should go towards a better NHS, not a new computer system - Farron

Local MP Tim Farron is leading national calls for an independent review into the new computer system for the NHS, Connecting for Health (CfH), which according to recent reports is now projected to cost £15 billion. Such a sum could wipe out the current deficits in NHS trusts approximately 15 times over, including those of the local Morecambe Bay health trusts.

MP delighted at success of bus surgery

Last Friday morning saw local MP Tim Farron hold an advice surgery on Kendal's buses. This was organised to help publicise the new bus timetable, the use of public transport, but also to find out people's concerns. Tim travelled on four different services throughout Kendal and the surrounding area meeting with local people.

MP and Mayor launch carbon footprint bid

South Lakeland MP Tim Farron and Kendal's Mayor Geoff Cook are backing a bid for local schools to undertake projects that will look at finding ways to respond positively to climate change. Tim and Geoff launched the bid at Ghyllside Primary School in Kendal last Thursday. If the bid is successful, our area could become England's flagship area for sustainability conscious schools.
